Taking a flight is by far the fastest means of getting Pasikudah. Although Pasikudah does not have a commercial airport, there is Batticaloa Airport (BTC) which is the closest domestic airport. From Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) to Batticaloa, Cinnamon Air operates flights that take about an hour. After landing, travelers have the option to take a taxi or a private transfer that will take them to Pasikudah. This journey is roughly 35km and takes around 30-40 minutes.
For those looking for a more affordable option, taking the train is one of the easiest and most beautiful ways to see Pasikudah. The train route that goes from Colombo to Batticaloa offers stunning views of the countryside from Sri Lanka, which include the gorgeous green paddy fields, serene lakes, as well as breathtaking vistas from charming little paddy villages.
