6. Itinerary

Firstly you will be picked up by your designated driver from your hotel in Bentota. From there onwards you can enjoy a comfortable ride to Udawalwa in an air conditioned vehicle. Udawalwa is located in the southern part of Sri Lanka . The day tour includes the entrance fees . As you enter the national park you can hop on the Safari Jeep that is ready for you. In the safari you will have your English speaking guide as well as an experienced jeep driver taking you to the best sightings possible.

This wildlife sanctuary is mainly inhabited by elephants.Most of these animals have been displaced and scattered around because of the Udawalawe reservoir and Walawe river constructions. It is believed to have around 250 Sri Lankan elephants permanently residing here. Elephant calves are also taken care of here and released to nature when they are able to fend for themselves.

Elephants are the main attraction of Udawalawe National Park. You will be able to spot these majestic animals all over the park. The park also serves as a home for crocodiles, wild boars, deer,water buffalo, jackals and different species of birds as well. You can take a lot of pictures without disturbing the animals in their natural habitat. The tour guide will explain all about the history and fascinating details about the wildlife here.
